Joan Darlene Bell,58, daughter of John C. Adams and Bernice Bishop, was born August 27, 1929, in West Des Moines. She passed away October 24, 1987.

On January 1, 1949, Joan married Lloyd C. Bell, son of Earl and Mable Bell) at the First Baptist Church Parsonage in Chariton. Four children came to bless this couple; Linda, Bonnie, Janet, and Earl, and foster daughter, June.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd C. Bell of Russell, daughters, Linda Neer and Bonnie Bell of Chariton, Janet (Ron) Jensen, of Melcher, June (Albert) Donner of Chariton, son Earl Bell (Kristy) of Russell, her mother-in-law Lola Bell of Chariton, ten grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.

Joan was a homemaker, wife, and mother to many. She enjoyed her family, friends, club and church activities.

Her hobbies included toll painting, crafts and ceramics.

She was known as Ma Bell to everyone who knew her.

Funeral services were held at the Fielding Funeral Home, Tuesday, October 27, 1987 with the Rev. Ron Stein and Rev. Jim Robertson officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Evans, David Orwig, LaVerne davis, Harold Webb, Jake DeBok, and Leo Carr.

Interment was in the Russell Cemetery.
