The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, February 14, 1908

ISAAC ETTER, of Cedar Township, died at his home on last Friday, the funeral
occurring at 2:00 p.m. next day, which was held at the Bethel Church, Rev.
McVey conducting the service. The interment was made in the cemetery there.
MR. ETTER had long been a sufferer and for months had been helpless with
paralysis and to him death brings relief.

He leaves a wife and six children. In the death of MR. ETTER, Cedar
Township loses a good citizen. He was past middle age in life but not to
that age when decay usually impairs the vitality but the blight of disease
prematurely fastened upon him and cut him down. The Leader learns of his
death with sorrow as it has been many years since the writer first counted
him among his list of friends and again have we an example of the frailty of
the human frame and of the mutibility of time. He built his own best
monument with a duty to his family well done and with a strict meeting of
the many obligations of life.
