Thursday, April 9, 1908

MICHAEL KAHOA was born at Jersey City, N.J. July 4th, 1832 and died at
Russell, Iowa April 4th, 1908, at the age of 75 years and 9 months.

He was married to ANN PRATHER, at LaGrange, Ia., January 22nd, 1864. Four
daughters preceded him in death -- CORA, JENNIE, PEARL and LENNA. Those
left to mourn for him are his wife and four sons -- THOMAS and ALFONZO of
Grimes, Okla.; CLIFTON of Leslie, Ark., and CHARLES of Russell, Ia., also
one step-daughter, MRS. GERTRUDE HANCOCK of Melrose, Iowa.

He was a soldier in the Civil War, served in Co. I, 8th Iowa Infantry. At
the time of his death he was a member of the G.A.R. of Russell, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at the house, Sunday, April 5, at 2:30 p.m.
After prayer and scripture reading by Rev. D.J. Shenton, the services were
conducted by the G.A.R. Post of which the deceased was a member.
