The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, August 29, 1907

Many hearts were saddened last Thursday, by the death of MRS. LOUISE ISRAEL,
which occurred at her home on Aug. 22, at 5 o'clock, after an illness of
nearly five weeks with typhoid fever. She had been improving, and her
condition favorable for her recovery, but on Wednesday she suffered a
relapse, and gradually grew worse until death came. LOUISE STUART, daughter
of MR. and MRS. T.M. STUART, was born in this city, July 13, 1880. She was
confirmed into the Episcopal Church, March 29, 1893, of which she was a
consistent member. She was united in marriage to GEORGE A. ISRAEL, June 15,
1901. Two children, STUART, aged five, and CONSTANCE, two years of age, are
left in the tender years of their life without the loving guidance of a
mother.

MRS. ISRAEL spent her entire life in Chariton, where she had endeared
herself to a large circle of friends, and her untimely death has cast a
gloom over the community. Besides her husband and two children, she leaves
a father, mother and four brothers, CORWIN, GRANT,THEODORE and GEORGE, to
mourn the loss of one who was near and dear to them. THEODORE, who is ill
with typhoid fever in Des Moines, and GEORGE, Lieutenant in the army, and on
his way to the Philippines, were unable to be present.

Funeral services were held at the Episcopal Church, Saturday afternoon,
conducted by Rev. Hakes, and interment made in Chariton Cemetery. The
community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
