Thursday, January 24, 1907

C.C. THOMPSON was born in 1838 in Jasper County, Indiana. In 1858, he was
united in marriage to MISS HENRIETTA JULIAN. To this union were born ten
children, five sons and five daughters. In 1866, the family moved to Iowa
and settled on a farm east of Russell, where they resided until six years
ago when they moved to Russell. Five sons, who were present at the funeral,
and three daughters who reside in Nebraska, with a sorrowing mother, survive
him.

On January 5, 1907, he received a stroke of paralysis, and was confined to
his bed until death came to his relief on January 19, at 3:30 p.m. Funeral
services were held from the Christian Church, Monday afternoon, conducted by
Rev. Herrington, where a large concourse of friends gathered to pay their
last tribute to their old friend and neighbor.
