FREDRICK MILLTHORP was born at Darrington, England, June 12th, 1826. He
came to America in 1847 and settled in Spotswood, New Jersey, where he
remained two years. He then removed to Carrollton, Illinois. He was
married to MISS SARAH E. HANSHAW on Dec. 9, 1856, and continued to reside
there until 1860, when they went to Toulton, Ill. They came to Wayne County
this State, in the spring of 1867, and resided on a farm until February,
1903, when they moved to Chariton, where they resided until the death of his
wife, March 8, 1905. Since that time he has made his home with his daughter
MRS. MITCHELL, at Cambria, where he died Thursday, Jan. 17, 1907, at the
age of 80 years, 7 months and 5 days.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday morning at 10 o'clock,
by Rev. Palmer, Pastor of the Baptist Church of this city, and the remains
laid to rest beside those of his faithful wife in the Chariton Cemetery.
Thus ends a long and useful life of a good citizen, who has gone to receive
his reward. He leaves to mourn his departure, six children, all of whom
were present on this sad occasion. They are MRS. W.P. RETHERFORD; MRS. J.A.
MCKLVEEN; W.C. MILLTHORP, of this city; MRS. G.A. SIRES and MRS. J.A.
MITCHELL, of Cambria, and MRS. H.W. THOMAS, of Humeston; LEROY the oldest
child dying in infancy, and ALICE at the age of 23 years. JOSEPH HUNTLEY
and MRS. WM. HARTLEY, of Toulton, Ill., cousins of the deceased, were also
in attendance.
