LEMUEL HICKMAN died at the home of his daughter, MRS. EMMA LONEY, near
Oakley, Tuesday morning, after a short illness with "grippe" and heart
trouble. Funeral services were held at Newbern, Wednesday at 2 o'clock,
after which interment was made in Newbern Cemetery. He was seventy-nine
years of age and leaves six children, three sons and three daughters, to
mourn his departure.
