John Henry Davis, the son of Joseph Flint and Mary Jane [MILLER] Davis, was born December 16, 1891, in Wapello county, Iowa, and passed away April 15, 1951 at the Yocom hospital in Chariton, Iowa, at the age of 59 years, three months and 29 days.
He came to Lucas county in 1899 when he was seven years old, and spent the remainder of his life farming in this community.
He was married to Pauline Barger on Nov. 28, 1928. To this union two children were born, Joe B. Davis and Esther Ann Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife who died January 15, 1937 and by his father and a sister [Flossie May West]. Those who survive are his mother, the two children, many other relatives and friends.
