Jerald "Jerry" Thompson, 72, of Derby, Iowa, died Friday, May 8, 2015 at his residence. Memorial services with military honors will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 18, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
Jerry was born on August 14, 1942, at Waukee, Iowa to Verle and Viola (Murphy) Thompson. Jerry had lived around Derby for the past 30 years. He had worked as a meat processor in Perry and Osceola. He also enjoyed farming. Jerry was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his sisters, Dixie Thompson, Marilyn (Wendell) Spencer, and Shirley (Gary) Allen, all of Winterset.
