CHARITON.
Lena Curtis, the little three-year-old
daughter of Stella Curtis, died at the
home of her uncle, C. S. Jones, in Des
Moines, where she and her mother had
been visiting, on Thursday evening,
after a brief illness with pneumonia.
The remains were brought to Chari-
ton and on Saturday morning at 10
o'clock, funeral services, conducted by
Rev. Hugh Moore, pastor of the First
Baptist church, were held at the home
of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira
Curtis, after which the remains were
interred in the Chariton cemetery. The
bereaved relatives will have the sym-
pathy of many friends in their grief.
