Gwinn funeral

CHARITON - The funeral for John Lloyd Gwinn, 68, who was found dead Thursday in a shooting incident, will be Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Duane Houston officiating at the Fielding Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ottawa Cemetery in Clarke County.

He is survived by 10 children, John Jr., and James of Des Moines, Lester of Iowa City, Mrs. Rose Albright of Humeston, Gwendolyn Bacon of Melcher, and Ray, Jerry, Gerald, David and Roger, all of Chariton; three sisters, Maude Taylor of Chariton, Maymie Roberts of Derby and Laura Robin of Boyes Springs, Calif.; and two brothers, Chariton and Floydie of Lucas.

A sister-in-law, Hilda M. Sinclair, 67, involved in the same incident, was listed in critical condition at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at 10 a.m. today. Authorities believe it was a murder-suicide attempt. It was not determined which was responsible for the shooting.
