Smith Dies In Creston

Glenn Smith, 75, retired zone manager for International Harvester, died Thursday at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. The Smiths are former residents of Fairfield and lived at 1106 S. Eighth. The home address is presently 1301 W. Adams, Creston.

Visitation will be tonight at Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home in Creston from 7:30 to 8:30. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in First Christian Church in Creston. Burial will be in Chariton.

Smith was born Aug. 2, 1902, the son of John H. and Minnie Smith. He was married on Aug. 10, 1930 to Lucille Blakely. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Mrs. Lou Janice Palm of Creston, and Dr. Richard F. Smith of Marion, Inc. There are four grandchildren and a brother, Howard N. Smith of Chariton, also.

He lived as a youth in Lucas County, then Ottumwa, Iowa City and Fairfield. In 1958 he moved to Macomb, Ill., and retired in 1962. In 1966 the Smiths moved to Creston, where he was a member of First Christian Church. A memorial to the church has been established.
