Charles McGee, 75, Dies Near Russell

Charles Lawrence McGee, 75, died about 6 p.m. Sunday at his home 3 1/2 miles east of Russell.

He was born Feb. 25, 1888 in Wayne county, the son of John J. and Elizabeth Cavanaugh McGee. He served in France during World war I.

A retired farmer, he lived in Wyoming four or five years before moving to Lucas county 23 years ago. He never married.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary and Margaret of Russell, and two brothers, C.C. McGee and J.W. McGee, also of Russell. Two brothers, James and Thomas preceded him in death.

The rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Humeston Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Melrose with Rev. Father J.J. Morrissey, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
