Mrs. H.C. Lane,

Mrs. H.C. Lane, for many years a resident of Chariton, died at her home in this city on Sunday evening, March 24, 1935, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 22 days, after an extended illness with a complication of troubles.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. M. S. Clark, were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, with burial in the Sharon cemetery.
America Jane Schaffer was born in New York, Wayne County, Iowa, on December 2, 1850. She was united in marriage to H. C. Lane on December 31, 1876. To this union eleven children were born, seven of whom preceded her in death. Those living are Mrs. Myrtle Cooper, of Kansas City, MO: Mrs. Rose Apgar, Mrs. Nettie Dorenspike and Isacc Lane, all of Chariton.

She united with the church early in life and had been a faithful member of the Chariton Baptist Chruch for many years.

She is survived by her husband and the four children mentioned above, also by fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Mary Louise Ryun, of Chariton, and other relatives.
