James Albert Lane

James Albert Lane, son of Mr. And Mrs. James A. Lane, was born June 9, 1882, on a farm in Wayne County, Iowa. He passed from this life at this home in Chariton, Iowa, December 29, 1946, at the age of 64 years, 6 months and 9 days.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Luke at Cleveland, Iowa, in 1902. This union proved to be a very happy one.

Mr. Lane was united with the Reorganized Latter Day Saints church on March 16, 1902. This covenant he maintained the remainder of his life. He serviced the church as a deacon from November 20, 1921, to the very last, having prepared for the comfort of the membership the morning of his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Elizabeth, of Chariton; David, an adopted son, of Manteno, IL; a daughter-in-law and a grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Mark Roark, of Olwein, Iowa; Mrs. Asa Ryan, of Hiteman, Iowa; two brothers, Mr. William Lane, of East Moline, Illinois, and Mr. Lewis Lane, of Pollock, Missouri, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services in charge of the Elder J. W. Blackstock were held Wednesday, January 1, at 2:30 P.M. at the Reorganized Latter Day Saints church. Burial was made in Chariton cemetery.
