GENEVIA VAUGHN (CHARITON, IOWA) ... Genevia Lorraine Vaughn, daughter of Orval and Sylvia [Moore] Sparks, was born in Princeton, January 31, 1917, and died February 15, 1994 at the Chariton Manor Nursing Home in Chariton, Ia., at the age of 77 years.

Genevia was united in marriage to Marley Albert Vaughn March 26, 1938, in Cainsville. Marley preceded her in death September 19, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by one brother, Doyle Sparks.

Genevia is survived by her three brothers, Raphel Sparks, of Yuma, Az., Darrell Sparks, of Bettendorf, Ia., and Donal Sparks, of Chariton, Ia.; her two sisters, Sally Moore and Florence Wollis, both of Cambria, Ia.; a step-son, Marvin Vaughn of Mercer; a step-daughter, Mary Lou Stanford, of Lineville, Ia.; and by several step-grandchildren, and step -great grandchildren.

Genevia lived most of her life in Mercer County. After the death of her husband, she made her home with her sister, Florence. She had been a resident of the Chariton Manor Since January 6 of this year. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chariton.

Funeral Services were held Friday, February 18, 1994 at 1:30 pm at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton, with Vicar James Voigtmann officiating. Burial in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery northwest of Princeton.
