Obituary published in the Des Moines Register, December 22, 1999:
Carleen L. Mason, 44, of Melcher-Dallas died of cancer Saturday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas with burial at Dallas Cemetery.
Mrs. Mason was born in Chariton and had lived in Melcher-Dallas area all her life. She worked for Hormel Company.
Survivors are: her husband, David; a daughter, Heather Mason, and a son, Ryan; her mother and step-father, Joyce and Jerry Fortune, all of Melcher-Dallas; two brothers, Allan Farrell of Melcher-Dallas and Mike Farrell of Helena, Alabama; two sisters, Marina Weis of Van Meter and Linda Glover of Melcher-Dallas.
