Johnetta Mae Farrell was born July 8, 1922, in Lucas County, Iowa; and passed away August 17, 1999, at the Lucas County Health Center. She was the daughter of Frederick J. Farrell and Esther (Lutz) Farrell.
Johnetta was the oldest of 11 children and always lived at home, helping care for the younger children. She was truly a gift from God.
Johnetta was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Ed, Charlie,and Carl and her sister, Dell.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Colbert of Knoxville, who lived with Johnetta and cared for her during the past year; five brothers, Jerry Farrell and wife Bobbie of Chariton; Robert Farrell and wife Betty of Houston, Texas; Richard Farrell and wife Cecelia of Yorkville, Illinois; Don Farrell and wife Katie of Vail, Iowa; and Joe Farrell and wife Joey of Chariton; a brother-in-law, Eldon Agan of Kalispell, Montana; a sister-in-law, Joan Farrell of Chariton; along with many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, August 20, 1999, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chariton. The Mass was conducted by Father Allan Stetz. Casket bearers were Pat Farrell, Allen Farrell, Jason Farrell, Brian Carlson, Terry Baughman, and Del Halterman.
