Obituary from Kalispell, Flathead County, Montana:
Eldon 'Stubbs' Wayne Agan, 75, passed away in the early morning hours of July 20, 2001. He died comfortably in his own bed, surrounded by family, memories, and music. He was born August 13, 1925 in Lucas County, Iowa to Lemuel E. and Gladys Boston Agan. He grew in the farmlands of Iowa with strong work ethic. While still in his teens he embarked on an adventure to see America while hopping freight trains and living a hobo's lifestyle. When World War II broke out, he immediately volunteered to fight for the country that he so strongly believed in. He served proudly in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific Ocean.
After the war, he returned to Iowa where he fell in love with Barbara Dell Farrell. They married and had two sons, Ken and Don. In about 1956,
he moved his family to Modesto, California where he lived until coming to Montana 10 years ago. He worked as a printer for many years in Modesto. He, also, raised cattle and horses with his good friend Mary.
He was a good man who worked hard and provided well for his family. He was a Democrat and a Dodger fan. The family would like to express
their gratitude to the Hospice program that helped allow him to die with dignity. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Barbara Dell who died five years ago. He is survived by two sons, Ken Agan and Don and wife Cheryl Agan of Kalispell; brother, Kenneth, and his children, Jim, Kenneth, and Judy Agan of Modesto, California; three granddaughters, Kari, Cassidy, and Rachel; as well as numerous friends. Grave side services will be held on Monday at 3 P.M. at C. E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. The family request memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, 175 Commons Loop Ste. 10 D, Kalispell,
Mt. 59901. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary
and Crematory.
