Thirteen is not always an unlucky number, for the commencement exercises at
May, on Thursday evening, were a decided success. The class of thirteen did
honor to themselves and all concerned. It was the first time public
commencement had been observed in Warren Township, but we are certain it
will not be the last. The church was beautifully decorated with bunting, in
class colors, and potted plants and the motto, "Not finished; just begun,"
was also in class colors, while dark cloth made an effective background for
the class. Each of the class deserve high praise for the way they acquitted
themselves. We congratulate them all and wish they may take other steps in
life as successfully as they have this one. Several musical numbers were
rendered by members of the class and others, which were highly appreciated
by the large congregation of over 200 persons. Let us help on the
commencement. We can surely afford the few extra dollars and the time that
it takes to bring this bright spot to their lives. Let us learn to believe
and help in anything that makes the educational or home life of our children
broader, brighter, and better; anything that makes out of them the kind of
people we would like for neighbors; the kind of people who will make good
United States citizens. Then here's to the class of 1908 of Warren Township
may each day of their lives be one grand commencement of the one that is to
follow. Following are the names of the class:

RHODA DAVIS,
BEULAH DILLMAN,
ROY DUCKWORTH,
THOMAS MCCANN,
IDA ALEXANDER,
ADA CHAMPLIN,
WILLIE KENNEY,
NELLIE CURTIS,
AGNES YOUNG,
GLENN DILLMAN,
IVER ERLANDSON,
HATTIE BARGER,
JESSIE DANNER.
