The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, February 6, 1908

The wedding of R.P. DECKER and MISS MATTIE HENRY, occurred at high noon,
Wednesday, January 22, 1908, at the home of the bride's parents, E.M. HENRY
and wife, of Derby, Iowa, Rev. A.W. Armstrong, Pastor of the M.E. Church,
officiating. The ceremony was witnessed by some fifty guests. Those out of
town were Mr. Andrew Henry and two children, of Hoisington, Kansas; Miss
Winnie Schwick, of Corydon; Mr. and Mrs. John Bowman and Miss Laura Gasset,
of Humeston, and Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Garland, of Chariton.

The decorations of the room were of exquisite beauty, and were arranged with
much skill, the background being of potted plants and draperies of pink and
yellow. The bride was gowned in brown wool taffeta. The groom was garbed
in conventional black. After the ceremony the wedding dinner was served.
This was an elaborately arranged, three-course banquet with viands of
innumerable kinds, to allure the taste. They were the recipients of many
useful presents.

The bride is a great church worker and she will be greatly missed in the
Sabbath school and League. MR. and MRS. DECKER will make their home in
Wilcox, Canada, after March 1st. Their host of many friends wish them a
life of happiness and prosperity.
