The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, November 7, 1907A quiet wedding occurred at the home of L.F. MAPLE, Wednesday evening, at
eight o'clock, when his daughter, MARGARET, was united in marriage to JAMES
BAKER, Rev. Hakes, Rector of the Episcopal Church, officiating, using the
impressive ring ceremony. Only the immediate relatives and a few intimate
friends were present. The bride wore a white dress of French lawn, trimmed
in lace and insertion, and carried a bouquet of pink roses. She has resided
in this city her life time, and graduated from the Chariton High School in
the class of '99. She is popular in social circles where she will be
greatly missed by her young friends. The groom is a son of DON BAKER and
also raised in this city. He is a progressive and enterprising young man,
and is worthy his chosen bride. They immediately went to housekeeping in
the Smyth block on the north side of the square, where they had nicely
furnished rooms prepared for their coming.Their many friends wish them a long life, filled with happiness and
prosperity.
