The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, November 7, 1907

MR. GUY FOSTER and MISS MAE SHORE, of Lincoln Township, sprung a surprise on
their numerous friends by quietly going to the Evangelical parsonage at
Russell on Wednesday morning, Nov. 6, 1907, and having the impressive words
said which made them husband and wife. Rev. Wood performed the ceremony at
10 o'clock, in the presence of MISS CANDACE FOSTER, sister of the groom, and
EUGENE SHORE, brother of the bride. The bride was attired in a dainty and
becoming white mohair gown.

The bride is a daughter of MR. and MRS. ARCH SHORE. She is generous, warm
hearted and possesses a kind and pleasant disposition that attracts and
retains friendship, and wins the esteem of all with whom she comes in
contact. She is the kind of a young woman to make home happy. The groom is
a son of MR. and MRS. DOUGLASS FOSTER, and has grown up in our midst from
childhood. He is a young man who stands high in the community and comes by
inheritance and training into possession of those traits of character which
win success in the battle of life. he is upright and industrious, and in
every way worthy of his bride. Both bride and groom have been reared to
young manhood and womanhood in this community, and are of excellent worth.

The Leader would add its hearty good wishes to those of the hosts of friends
of MR. and MRS. FOSTER and hopes they may find their matrimonial pathway
strewn with many of the beauties and comforts of life, may Heaven's choicest
blessings be bestowed upon them is the wish of their many friends.
