The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, August 29, 1907Boulder, Colo., Aug 26, 1907.
Dear Brother Gittinger: -- You can imagine how pleased I was to meet at the
church on Sunday, Brother SAMUEL MCKLVEEN and wife, R.R. FOGG and son, JOHN,
here during the summer, and MRS. ASA WHITTEN and two daughters, formerly of
Russell, and TARVIN EDWARDS, and MISS LEONA HOWARD, of Chariton. MR.
EDWARDS is now living with his family on a ranch at Hoyt, Colorado. That
afternoon we called on MR. and MRS. ED GRAY, formerly of Chariton. Brothers
FOGG and MCKLVEEN have been like "kinfolk" in helping us get settled in our
new home. Awake and in dreams, our minds go back to Chariton, and the
memory is sweet indeed of the many years in service and friendship there.
Every morning the first thing upon waking we look out of our bedroom windows
upon the grandeur of the snow capped Rockies, and the next thing is to wash
our faces in snow water from the only glacier, Arapaho, in the Rockies.-- Sincerely and Fraternally,
F.B. PALMER.
