The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, April 11, 1907

A very pretty wedding occurred at the home of MR. and MRS. F.E. HENDRICKSON,
in southeast Chariton, on Wednesday evening, April 10, when their sister,
MISS MYRTLE EASTMAN was united in marriage to MR. ARTHUR WALLACE, of Norwood
in the presence of sixty invited guests. Miss Reba Newsome sang, "The
Voice That Breathed O'er Eden," after which Mendelsshon's Wedding March was
executed by the groom's sister, Miss Mable Wallace, of Norwood, as the
bridal couple descended the stairs, attended by Will Wallace, cousin of
groom, as best man, and Miss Margaret Gay, as bridesmaid.

They took their places in the front parlor under a canopy of white net and
evergreens, from which suspended a white bell, where Rev. J.H. Yaggy of the
United Brethren Church, spoke the words which united the lives and fortunes
of this worthy couple. After congratulations had been extended, a dainty
two-course luncheon was served. The house was decorated with smilax, potted
plants and cut flowers, which presented a pleasing effect. The bride looked
charming in a gown of white silk, trimmed with lace, insertion and
medallions, and carried an arm bouquet of bride's roses. The groom wore the
customary black. The bridesmaid wore white silk organdy over white, and
carried pink roses.

The bride is the daughter of SOLOMON EASTMAN, was raised in Chariton, where
she graduated from high school in the class of '97, and has been a
successful teacher in the public schools for a number of years. She is
possessed of many good qualities and by her pleasant manner has won a host
of friends who wish her abundant joy in her new home. The groom is a
prosperous farmer of Norwood, having been raised in this county, a young man
of sterling worth and integrity, and is worthy the bride he has chosen. MR.
and MRS. WALLACE will go to housekeeping at once on a farm provided by the
groom near Norwood.

The Leader joins their many friends in the wish that their lives may be long
happy and blessed with an ample portion of this world's goods. They were
the recipients of many useful and beautiful presents. Among the out of town
guests were, Miss Maggie Fluckey , of Afton, Mr. and Mrs. John Riggs and
children, of Newbern, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vanderbue, of Lacona, Mr. and Mrs.
Will Phippin and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hammond, of Russell, Mrs. Eva Wiltsey,
son Roy and wife, also daughter Eva and Mrs. Hannah Phippin, of Russell. Mr
and Mrs. Jones, of Oakley, Miss Mable Wallace of Norwood, and others. A
reception will be given at the parental WALLACE home at Norwood, this
evening.
