Laura Celine Ayers

In 1860, Laura C. was the 2nd wife of William C. Ayers, previously of Shelby Co., Ohio, and shortly to be of Mahaska Co., Iowa, then (by 1970) in Sullivan Co., Mo. She died 14 Aug. 1864, according to the WPA survey. Is her obituary available? Or any other material to help me figure out what Wm. was doing during the 1860 census, when all his family was scattered (his daughter not yet married to my great grandfather) and he's not listed anywhere I can find.
