In Response To: Death of newspaper editor in train wreck (Frances Sigley)

Hi Frances,

We have a history of Louisa Co. Newspapers here
http://iagenweb.org/louisa/history/county_newspapers.htm

Take a look at the history of Morning Sun newspapers.

The Mellinger Memorial Library, in Morning Sun, has a digitized newswpaper collection. Please see Web site: http://mellinger.advantage-preservation.com/

Railroads in Iowa came to be connected across the Mississippi in 1867. There were a lot of train wrecks in the earlier days.

Look also for newspaper coverage in the Muscatine Journal, Muscatine, IA. Some of the early papers may be found on Newspaper.archives.com

Really hope something here helps.
