In Response To: Looking for info. (Sarah)

Sarah, if you are unable to locate a record of their burial and the Murdocks lived on a farm, there is a good chance they were buried on the family farm. My mother told us that a premature infant son she lost 1922-3?, was buried under a rosebush in the lawn where they lived at the time. I am assuming that was my Grandfather's farm where they may have lived. I would never be able to locate that site today. I also have a Great grandfather whose grave cannot be located that is believed to have been buried on the family farm. Death records weren't required prior to 1880 and even in the early years afterwards, compliance was rather sketchy in some areas. Church records may provide a clue if services were held there but many of them have not survived.
