John & Catharine Payton

Searching for info on John Payton/Peyton b abt 1815 in Virginia. Married Catharine Slaughter in 1834 in Kanawha Co., VA. They were in Louisa Co. before 1838. John died before 1850. John & Catharine had at least 5 children, William, Richard E, Frances M, James M, and John W. William & Richard were both killed in the Civil War. James also served & then married Paulina Jane Dix in 1864 in Louisa Co. In 1852, Catharine married Ira Griswold. They had 1 son, Milton Oliver. Frances married Franklin Fowler. I am at a brick wall on John's parents & siblings. Been stuck for over 30 years!! Please help.
