Page 1John H. Graham, a resident of Louisa county, died Wednesday, September 27, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. J. York, 1117 East 8th Street, Muscatine at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 16 days. He was born June 11, 1827, in Prebble county, Ohio. He came to Iowa in the fall of 1850 with his father, mother, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. He has resided in Louisa county ever since. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Warnstaff, August 15, 1860.
To this union ten children were born three of whom preceded him to the Better Land. Those who remain to mourn his departure are: William W. of Muscatine Island; Jas. S. of Wapello; Charles E., of Nichols, Ia.; D. N. Graham of Muscatine; Mrs. J. J. York of Muscatine; Mrs. W. P. Storms of Muscatine Island and Mrs. E.L. Murphy of New York. He is also survived by one brother, Daniel Graham of Wapello, 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A host of other relatives and friends mourn his death. The remains were brought down from Muscatine this morning and the funeral was held from the First M. E. church at 10 o'clock conducted by the Rev. C. E. Coggshall. Interment in Wapello cemetery.
