Mrs. John Colton, for many years a resident of this county, died very suddenly at her home northwest of Columbus Junction Monday night. She was in her usual health in the earlier part of the evening, but about 8 p. m. was taken suddenly ill and passes away after and illness of a few hours before medical aid which had been summoned could arrive. Mrs. Colton was born in Boston, Mass., about sixty years ago. Her maiden name was Julia McCarthy. When she was a small child her mother died and her father, Daniel McCarthy, placed her and her two brothers and a sister in the family of his brother, Charles McCarthy. Mrs. Colton is survived by her husband, a sister, Mrs. Ella Thompson, and a brother Daniel McCarthy, of Ainsworth. The funeral services were held this morning from the Catholic church at Columbus Junction and interment will be made at the cemetery at Columbus City.
