Mrs. Gertie Lee Ives Jackson was born at Dysart, Tama county, Iowa, August 26, 1878. Died at Wapello, Iowa, August 21, 1910, aged 31 years, 11 months and 26 days. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Ives of Wapello, who survive her. Her brothers and sisters are, Arthur Willard Ives, who preceded her in death about one year; Rhoda Louisa Christopherson, of Wapello, Iowa; Will Ives, of Wapello; Ada Ola Morgenson of Muscatine, Ia.; Jettie Pearl Kendricks, of Burlington, Iowa; Jessie Milton Ives of Wapello; Oliver Guy Ives who died in infancy and Druscillia Ives, of Wapello.

In her infancy her parents moved from Tama county to Louisa county where the family since have resided. She as married to Lewis Elmer Jackson, January 13, 1897, in Wapello, where their home has always been. There were born to them three children Bonnie Lee and Zelma Dorris, who remain with the husband to mourn her loss, and a babe who passed before her to the better world. Having early in life just as she was entering her "teens", become a devoted christian, uniting with the Methodist church in Wapello, she so lived and died. The funeral services were held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Ives, at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. J. E. Newsom, with interment in the Wapello cemetery.
