Page 8Thomas S. Curtis was born in Michigan July 19th, 1853, and departed this life June 17th, 1910, aged nearly 57 years. At the age of twelve years he came with his parents to Ononwa, now Letts, Iowa, where he resided until his death. September 12th, 1878, he was united in marriage with Miss Hattie Jacobs, and to them were born six children, five of whom, with the mother, survive. Three brothers and four sisters also survive Mr. Curtis. They are, John S. Curtis, Mrs. Ella Furnas, Mrs. Ollie Parsons and Mrs. Minnie Harrison, of Letts and Albert S. Curtis, of Bayard, Iowa and Samuel Curtis, of Blue Mound, and Mrs. Mary Hutchinson, of Augusta, Kans. The funeral was held last Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. A. Longnecker, of Danville, Iowa.
