Page 1P. M. Reisch, an old resident of this county, died at Bellevue hospital in Muscatine Saturday evening, Nov. 30, 1907, after an illness of several years. He had been in the hospital but a short time. He had resided in Letts for the last quarter of century and was universally respected and greatly loved by those who came to know him intimately. He was a man of warm and generous impulses, given to hospitality and a fine conversationalist until disease and suffering clouded his once active mind. He was one of the old 49ers, having gone overland to California at the time of the first gold rush. He was born in 1826 in the east and later moved to Iowa. He is survived by three step daughters, Miss Olive Henderson, Mrs. Robert Wilson and Mrs. Dr. Armentrout, of Letts. The funeral was held at Letts Tuesday with interment at that place. Mr. Reisch was a prominent member of the Masonic order.
