Lewis Bromley Ritter was born in Virginia, near Winchester, Jan. 10, 1850 and passed away at his home two and one-half miles west of Letts, Ia., April 25, 1905. He came to Iowa thirty-five years ago and has since that time made his home near Letts. Twenty-nine years ago he was married to Miss Kate Wagner, who survives him. To this union were born three sons, all of whom are living and at home.

Mr. Ritter was well favorably known and the community in which he lived will feel the loss of an excellent man, as he was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a quiet, loving husband, and a kind father. The wife and sons have the sympathy of the entire community. The deceased was a cousin and Mrs. Frank Grasham, of Wapello, also Mrs. F. B. Idle, of Letts, Iowa.
