(Fruitland) Alonzo C. Craddock, an old resident of Fruitland, died April 16, 1905. He was born in Michigan on July 22, 1842, where he spent his boyhood. About 50 years ago he moved to Muscatine county with his parents and settled near Fruitland. After some years he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Freeman, of Muscatine Island, who is now left to mourn the loss of the devoted husband.

During the civil war he served his country at the front and when the war was over returned to his island home and took up farming. Socially he was a member of the G. A. R. post and the K. of P., while those lodges were at Fruitland. He was a member of the court of Honor at Fruitland.

He is survived by his wife and two boys, Elmer S. age 17, and Chester F., age 12, and three brothers, John and Walter, of Fruitland township and F. A. Craddock, Des Monies. The funeral was held yesterday morning at the Island church at 10 o'clock. The interment in the Island cemetery.
