The funeral of Mrs. George Jamison, who passed away at her home last Wednesday evening, was held Friday afternoon, November 18, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Cooper, of this city. At one o'clock the funeral cortege left the home and proceeded to the Bethel M. E. church, where the impressive services were held. The services were largely attended by many friends and neighbors of the deceased besides the relatives. Rev. Cooper preached a touching sermon, at the close of which he read the following and the remains were laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery.

Hulda Ann Herrick Jamison, the fifth child of John C. and Catherine C. Herrick, was born in Watertown, New York, October 10th, 1822, and passed to her reward at the old Jamison homestead November 16, 1904. Of her father's family of ten children, she is the last to quit time's shore. When but a child she came with her parents to Ohio and on September 2d, 1840, she was united in marriage to Mr. George Jamison, and removed at once to Louisa county, Iowa. To this union was born eight children, five sons and three daughters, of whom four survive - John W., Jacob H., Merrit L. and Oregon B., all living and all present at the funeral.

The husband and father, the Hon. George Jamison, who was numbered among the stalwart pioneers of this county, and who in public and private live exhibited that sterling integrity, faithful performance of duty which always characterized the best and insures success, found in this faithful companion and trusted helpmeet. About three years ago Mr. Jamison passed to the bourne from which no traveler returns.

After the death of her husband, Mrs. Jamison gave evidence that her work was done. She was kindly cared for by the youngest son, who with his family occupy the old homestead and by her niece, Miss Mary Bonner, who has made her home with the deceased for the past forty years.
