Last Sunday night at 11 o'clock occurred the death of Mr. David McKinley at his home in Cairo, Iowa. He was born in Holmes county, Ohio, on October 14, 1829 and came to this state in 1853, settling near Cairo on a farm where he engaged in agriculture until some time in the 60's. when he moved into the village of Cairo and engaged in the mercantile business in which he continued until a few years ago, when he retired from active life. Mr. McKinley was married three times. His first marriage was to Miss Anne Reiley, in Ohio, sister of L. A. Reiley of Wapello, who died in 1857. To this union was born one son, Mr. James B. McKinley, of Richmond, Cal.

In 1858 he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Allen. To this union was born also one son, Mr. Walter McKinley, of San Francisco, Cal. After the death of his second wife he was again united in marriage to Miss Anna Allen who still survives her husband to mourn the loss of a faithful partner. Mr. McKinley stood for right dealing, clean citizenship and for the purity of society. His home was his strong tower of strength. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. H. Cooper in the church at Cairo on Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. after which the mortal remains were borne tenderly to their last resting place in the cemetery at Cairo.
