Mrs. Adaline Thompson died at her home in Columbus Junction last Thursday. She was born in Berien county, Michigan, Feb. 8th, 1850. He maiden name was Adaline Blake. She removed with her parents to Louisa county in 1855 and was married to Jacob S. Thompson in 1869. She was the mother of eight children, three of whom died in infancy. The other five three sons and two daughters, survives and were with their mother in her last illness, These are Mrs. Dallas Hampton, of Muscatine; William, Margaret, Everett and Frank, all of home. She was of high character and a devout christian. Short funeral services were held in the home Saturday, conducted by Prof. Hamill, of Grandview, but the regular services were held at Pleasant Grove Bethel, east of Grandview, with interment at the Thompson cemetery.
