On Monday, June 22, at his home at Gape Girardeau, Mo., occurred the death of Joseph E. Jean after an illness lasting about three days. He was born on July 4, 1862, on a farm near Conesville. He was united in marriage to Mattie N. McKee on December 4, 1884. To this union were born four children, they being Joseph Clay, Anita Love, Harry Leander and Fred McKee. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon, July 26, at the Reformed church, Rev. G. Bumgartel conducting the services. Interment was made at Conesville cemetery.
