Cairo, August 12 - Our neighbor William Thompson, died August 6, 1902, aged 83 years. He was one of the old pioneers of Grandview township, locating there in 1859. His wife preceded him to that better country six years ago. Three children survive him- W. B., J. S., and Elizabeth. The deceased was very unfortunate when twenty-three old in losing his eye sight. How sad to bear up under such a severe affliction for 60 long years, yet under all this affliction, when met he seemed to be jovial and cheerful. The friends have the sympathy of the entire community.
