Miss Cora Day of Fruitland, was thrown from her horse Saturday afternoon one and one-half miles east of the slough bridge in Grandview township receiving injuries from which she died the next day between 10 and 11 o'clock. She had been working for Lon Lieberknecht and had started for her home in Fruitland. She was found about 1:20 leading her horse by N. Grojean. He took her in his buggy and took her to his home near by. She was barely able to walk when he found her, her face was badly lacerated and her clothing torn. All the account she could give was that the horse had thrown her and her foot had caught in the stirrup dragging her a short distance.

After getting into Mr. Grojean's buggy she began to grow weaker and when he helped her out at his home she fell unconscious. Dr. Higley, of Grandview was called and an examination revealed the fact that she was injured internally. Deceased was about 20 years of age.
