Mrs. Jermima Mann, wife of John Mann died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. L. Crane, in Lone Tree, Iowa, Monday evening, Jany 18, 1892. She had passed the 70th mile stone in the pilgrimage of life and was in frail and delicate health for some time before her death. She was attacked by the prevailing disease, la grippe, but was able to be about the house even up to a few hours of her death She had retired for the night and had been given a drink of water but a little time before her daughter went to her bed and found that her spirit had taken its heavenward flight.

Mr. and Mrs. Mann were married 52 or 53 years ago and came from Preble county Ohio to Wapello, in 1851, where they formed many warm friendships. Mr. Mann was a miller in the old Wapello mill for a long period. For a number of years the old couple have not kept house but have lived with their three married children, viz: Mrs. E. L. Crane, of Lone Tree, Mrs. Immogene Backus and Steward Mann, both of Chicago. Two son, William and John are dead. Mrs. Mann is a sister of Mrs. Archibald, mother of Rufus and R. B.

She was a member of the M. E. church, was quiet, consistent Christian woman, and lived a long and useful life. The remains were brought here last evening and the funeral will take place from the residence of R. E. Archibald today (Thursday) at 10:30 o'clock.
