Wednesday of last week, a three year old child of Jasper Pantzius, who lives on David Woodruff's farm, in Columbus City township, was burned so badly that it died five hours after. The parents are employed to do the milking for Mr. Woodruff who keeps a large number of cows. Both of them were absent from the house doing the morning milking, leaving their four children by themselves with a good fire in the stove. In some way the clothes of the little three year old caught fire and he ran out of the house screaming, which attracted the parents. He lived five hours when his terrible sufferings were ended by death. The body was buried at the Long Creek cemetery Thursday.
