Louisa Center- John W. Adye, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Adye, died of consumption, Saturday, December 27, 1890, aged 27 years and 5 days. He had been on the decline since he had the Lagripe last spring, but had never been entirely confined to his bed. Although grieved to leave his wife and babe, he was ready and willing to rest in the arms of Jesus.

Three of his sisters attended the funeral, Mrs. Cochran of Iowa City, Mrs. A. J. Fitzsimons of Fruitland and Mrs. Day of this county. His youngest sister Mrs. Lamberson was not present. Mr. and Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Curran of Vinton, parents and sister of Mrs. Maggie Adye were present. The funeral services were conducted at Cairo, Monday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Bancroft. A large concourse of friends followed the remains to the cemetery.
