Fred W. Snyder was born in Fredonia, Iowa, May 6rh, 1883 and passed away at Burlington in Mercy hospital August 17th. Most of his life was spent in Fredonia, his home town. Two years he spent in Ohio during the war, working as a mechanic, his trade until his health began to fail. He was united in marriage to Miss Nellie Trimble, of Fredonia, in the year of 1902 and to this union four children survive his death. Opal, Wilbur, Alice and Ruth Synder, the latter who makes her home with her uncle, Ed Kelly of Columbus Junction.

In 1920, December 30 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Zella Sollar at Wapello, Iowa. His wife and baby daughter, Mary Dareline, are left to mourn the death of a husband and father. Also a sister, Mrs. Mary Brown, of Bard and a brother, James Snyder of Fredonia and an only aunt, Annie Snyder, of Columbus Junction besides host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Fredonia conducted by Rev. W. H. Dillon and interment was made in the Fredonia cemetery.
