Wm. Emmack, for many years a well known resident of Columbus City, passed quietly away at his home in that city, Wednesday morning, July 12, 1922, after only a few days confinement to his bed. William Emmack was born in Muskingum county, Ohio, September 12, 1851 and came to this county at an early age. He was married here to Miss Delaney Ann Morris, February 19, 1874 and for many years they resided on a farm southeast of Columbus Junction. Four sons and two daughters, with the wife survive to mourn his death. They are: Edward, who resides at Fairfield, Iowa; David W. at Powersville, Missouri; Mrs. Margaret Buttman, of Ramona, Oklahoma; Melvin M. of Leon, Iowa; Chester A. of Allerton, Iowa; Mrs. Charlotte Townsley, of Clinton, Iowa.

The deceased united with the United Presbyterian church at Columbus City but after transferred his membership to the Presbyterian church and was faithful until the end. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Columbus City this afternoon at two o'clock conducted by Rev. S. B. Houston, Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
