Mrs. Eliza Colton, a pioneer citizen of this county and an aunt of Mrs. R. S. Johnston, at Columbus City died Friday, November 2nd at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Thompson, at Wapello at the advanced age of 91 years. She came to this county in the early 60's and had made her home in the vicinity of Wapello since. She was born in Duchess county, New York, February 12, 1832. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon by Rev. G. Winter, of the Presbyterian church and interment was made in the Wapello cemetery.
