Elmer Crim, a former well know Columbus Junction resident died at St. Francis Hospital, Grinnell Friday where he had been in the hospital the past four weeks and where he had resided the past two years. He was born in Union township, Louisa county, May 28, 1877 and when a young boy came with his parents to Columbus Junction were he grew to manhood and worked as a printer at the Safeguard and Columbus Gazette, Columbus Junction, Iowa newspaper offices. He moved to Oskaloosa where he was editor and owner of the Oskaloosa Times. From there he moved to Grinnell.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Metta Mathews of Oskaloosa, Miss Rachel Crim of Des Moines and Miss Velma Crim of Grinnell, also two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Virgie McGire of Gladwin, Mrs. Wm Sink and Jay Crim of Columbus Junction. The funeral services were held at Grinnell Sunday and the remains were brought to Columbus Junction on the 6 o'clock train Monday morning. The interment was made by the side of his son, Lawrence, in the Columbus City cemetery with services at the grave in charge of the local Masonic lodge of which organization deceased was a member.
