George W. Solomon for forty years a resident of Fredonia, died at his home there, Friday, May 25, 1923, following an extended illness. George W. Solomon was born in Michigan, October 1, 1855 where he was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Jones, in 1874. In 1882 they came to Iowa and moved to Fredonia. To them two sons were born, Charles W., of Eldon and Ray A. of Muscatine who with the aged wife survive to mourn his death. He is also survived by two brothers, seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church at Fredonia conducted by Rev. W. H. Dillon with interment in the Fredonia cemetery.
